In July this year Bookham Wine Club held a special Summer Event in co-operation with the Association of Wine Educators. Over 100 members and guests enjoyed a tutored wine tasting of 25 wines led by Heather Dougherty, AWE past chairman and regular contributor to our club.
All members of The Association of Wine Educators are qualified to at least Wine and Spirit Educator Trust Diploma, and several are Masters of Wine. The wines we tasted were a selection of wines that AWE members recommended as being some of the best they have found on the market; wines they have enjoyed presenting at tastings, or drinking themselves. The wines were widely available and were mostly under £10, which showed excellent value for money.
After the informative wine tasting we enjoyed a delicious hog roast followed by a superb selection of cheeses and desserts.
